Membership

Membership of the Association is open to all professionals who are active in the field of laser safety, in any area of laser application, who have –

Extensive experience of, and involvement in, laser safety.
Substantial understanding of laser safety.
A professional attitude and approach to laser safety.

Candidates for membership are assessed on the basis of a written application and a subsequent interview, and must be able to demonstrate their understanding and ability. Successful applicants who are granted Membership of the Association are also awarded accreditation as Laser Protection Advisers (LPA’s) in the particular field or fields (i.e. in medical & cosmetic applications or in general or industrial applications) in which they have demonstrated their competence.

Applying for Membership

If you think you meet the Membership criteria, you can make an initial application together with the fee for the initial application is £50.00
Download a short application form, complete and submit with your CV.
NO BULKY PORTFOLIO IS NEEDED
If your initial application is successful you will be invited for interview
At this stage there will a £200 charge
If you are successful at the interview stage, you will be granted Membership of ALSP [bringing LPA Certification in your area of expertise]
No further fees will be payable for the next 12 months
Thereafter Membership may be renewed annually on payment of the appropriate Fee
